Before PCB proofing, in addition to providing drawings, users also need to communicate with the PCB manufacturer to clarify their needs, otherwise some small details will directly lead to the scrapping of the entire PCB board. So, what matters should be explained to the manufacturer before PCB proofing?
1. Material: First of all, it is necessary to explain what kind of production material is used. At present, FR4 is the most commonly used, and the main material is epoxy resin stripped fiber cloth board.
2. Layers: It is necessary to explain the number of layers to make the PCB. The more layers, the more difficult the production and the more expensive the price.
3. Solder mask color: There are many colors, you can choose according to your own requirements, the most commonly used color is green.
4. Silk screen color: refers to the color of the font and frame of the silk screen on the PCB, and generally choose white.
5. Copper thickness: Generally, the thickness of copper is scientifically calculated according to the current of the PCB circuit. Generally, the thicker the copper, the better, but the cost will be higher, so a reasonable balance is required.
6. Whether the via hole is covered with solder mask: over solder mask is to insulate the via hole, otherwise the via hole is not insulated.
7. Surface treatment: Common surface treatment processes include tin spraying, immersion gold, gold plating, OSP, hot air leveling, chemical nickel raking gold, etc.; different surface treatments have different prices and effects, so we must carefully distinguish and report to them. The manufacturer informs the demand.
8. Quantity: The quantity of PCB to be produced must be clearly stated. Some PCB manufacturers stipulate the minimu quantity, such as 5 pieces or 10 pieces, if this item is not specified, the manufacturer will default to the minimu quantity.
