The solder mask refers to the part of the board that needs to be painted with green oil; because it is a negative film output, the actual effect of the part with the solder mask is not actually painted with green oil, but tin-plated and silver-white!
The paste mask of the soldering layer is used when the machine is placed, and it corresponds to the pads of all patch components. It is the same size as the toplayer/bottomlayer layer and is used to open the stencil and leak tin.
Both layers are used for tinning and soldering. It does not mean that one is tinned and the other is painted with green oil; then is there a layer that refers to the layer of green oil? As long as there is this layer in a certain area, it means that this area is What about the one with insulating green oil? I haven’t seen such a layer for the time being! The PCB board we drew, the pads on it have a solder layer by default, so the solder pads on the produced PCB board are painted with silver white It is not surprising that there is no green paint on the soldering tin; but the traces on the PCB board we drew only have the toplayer or bottomlayer layer, and there is no solder layer, but the traces on the made PCB board are all covered with a layer green oil.
That can be understood like this:
1> The solder mask means to open a window on the entire piece of solder mask green oil, the purpose is to allow welding! 2> By default, the area without the solder mask layer must be covered with green oil!
3>The paste mask layer is used for patch packaging! SMT packaging is used: toplayer layer, topsolder layer, toppaste layer, and the toplayer is the same size as the toppaste, and the topsolder is a circle larger than them. DIP packaging is only used: topsolder and multilayer layer (after some decomposition, I found that the multilayer layer is actually toplayer, bottomlayer, topsolder, bottomsolder layer size overlap), and topsolder/bottomlayer dagger toplayer/bottomlayer a circle.
Question: Is the sentence "The copper layer corresponding to the solder layer must be tinned or gold-plated" correct? This sentence is said by a person who works in a PCB factory. What he means is: If you want to make the painting The effect produced in the part of the solder layer is tin plating, then the corresponding part of the solder layer must have copper skin (ie: the area corresponding to the solder layer must have a part of the toplayer or bottomlayer layer)! Now: I come to a conclusion: : "The copper layer corresponding to the solder layer has copper to be tinned or gold-plated" is correct! The solder layer indicates the area that does not cover the green oil! Mechanical, mechanical layer keepout layer prohibits wiring layer top overlay top layer silk screen layer bottom overlay bottom silk screen layer toppaste, top pad layer bottom paste bottom pad layer top solder top solder resist layer bottom solder bottom solder resist layer drill guide, via guide layer drill drawing via hole drilling layer multilayer multilayer mechanical layer is It defines the appearance of the entire PCB board. In fact, when we talk about the mechanical layer, we refer to the shape and structure of the entire PCB board. The forbidden wiring layer is the boundary when we define the copper with electrical characteristics. That is to say, after we first define the forbidden wiring layer, it is impossible for the lines with electrical characteristics to exceed the forbidden wiring in the subsequent wiring process. The boundary of the layer.topoverlay and bottomoverlay are the silkscreen characters that define the top and bottom layers, which are the component numbers and some characters that we usually see on the PCB. toppaste and bottompaste are the top and bottom pad layers, which refer to the exposed copper and platinum that we can see, (for example, if we draw a wire on the top wiring layer, what we see on the PCB is only It is just a line, it is covered by the whole green oil, but if we draw a square or a point on the toppaste layer at the position of this line, the square and this point on the printed board will not have green Oil, but copper and platinum. The two layers of top solder and bottom solder are just opposite to the previous two layers. It can be said that these two layers are the layers to be covered with green oil. The multilayer layer is actually similar to the mechanical layer. Well, as the name suggests, this layer refers to all the layers of the PCB board. The two layers top solder and bottom solder are just opposite to the previous two layers. It can be said that these two layers are the layers to be covered with green oil; because they are Negative film output, so the actual effect of the part with the solder mask is not green paint, but tin-plated, silvery white!

1>Signa1 1ayer (signal layer) The signal layer is mainly used to arrange the wires on the circuit board. Protel 99 SE provides 32 signal layers, including Top layer (top layer), Bottom layer (J bottom layer) and 30 MidLayer (middle layer).

2> Interna1 plane layer (internal power supply/ground layer) Protel 99 SE provides 16 internal power supply layers/ground layers. This type of layer is only used for multilayer boards and is mainly used to arrange power lines and ground lines. We call it double Layer boards, four-layer boards, and six-layer boards generally refer to the number of signal layers and internal power/ground layers.

3> Mechanica1 1ayer (mechanical layer) Protel 99 SE provides 16 mechanical layers, which are generally used to set the dimensions of the circuit board, data marks, alignment marks, assembly instructions and other mechanical information. This information varies depending on the requirements of the design company or PCB manufacturer. Executing the menu command Design|MechanicalLayer can set more mechanical layers for the circuit board. In addition, mechanical layers can be attached to other layers for output and display.

4>So1der mask 1ayer (solder resist layer) coats a layer of paint on the parts other than the pad, such as solder resist paint, to prevent tin from these parts. Soldermask is used to match pads during the design process and is automatically generated. Protel 99 SE provides two solder mask layers, Top Solder (top layer) and BottomSolder (bottom layer).

5> Paste mask 1ayer (solder paste protective layer, SMD patch layer) It has a similar function to the solder mask layer, except that it corresponds to the pad of the surface-mounted component during machine welding. Protel99 SE provides two solder paste protection layers, Top Paste (top layer) and Bottom Paste (bottom layer). Mainly for SMD components on PCB board. If all the boards are placed with Dip (through-hole) components, this layer does not need to output Gerber files. Before attaching SMD components to the PCB board, solder paste must be coated on each SMD pad. The stencil used for tin coating must need this Paste Mask file, and the film can be processed. The most important thing about the Gerber output of the Paste Mask layer is that this layer is mainly aimed at SMD components. At the same time, compare this layer with the Solder Mask introduced above to find out the different functions of the two, because it can be seen from the film picture The two film maps are very similar.

6> Keep out 1ayer (forbidden wiring layer) is used to define the area where components and wiring can be effectively placed on the circuit board. Draw a closed area on this layer as the routing effective area, outside of this area cannot be automatically placed and routed.

7> Si1kscreen 1ayer (silk screen layer) The silk screen layer is mainly used to place printed information, such as the outline and label of components, various annotation characters, etc. Protel 99 SE provides two silkscreen layers, Top Overlay and Bottom Overlay. Generally, all kinds of marked characters are on the top silk screen layer, and the bottom silk screen layer can be closed.

8> The pads and penetrating vias on the Mu1ti 1ayer (multi-layer) circuit board must penetrate the entire circuit board and establish electrical connections with different conductive pattern layers. Therefore, the system specially sets up an abstract layer-multilayer. Generally, the pads and vias are set on multiple layers. If this layer is closed, the pads and vias cannot be displayed.

9> Dri11 1ayer (drilling layer) The drilling layer provides drilling information in the circuit board manufacturing process (such as pads, via holes need to be drilled). Protel 99 SE provides two drilling layers, Drillgride (drilling instruction map) and Drill drawing (drilling map).
